At CozyPawsAndTails, our mission is simple:
To celebrate the pets who rescue us — and to support the animals still waiting for their chance.

Through art, storytelling, and community, I use my little corner of the internet to help overlooked rescue pets feel seen, cherished, and loved. Every portrait, every purchase, every blog post is rooted in compassion for the animals who have shaped my life.

Welcome to a space where rescue pets are heroes, where misfits are adored, and where every wag, purr, and boop is a reminder that love heals.

💛 Why I Created CozyPawsAndTails

CozyPawsAndTails began with one simple truth:

Pets save us just as much as we save them.

I’ve lived with anxiety my whole life, and pets have always been my comfort, my grounding, my soft place to land. Creating art became my way of honoring them — and helping other pet parents cherish their furry family.

But even more, CozyPaws is my way of giving back.

To the ones born on the streets.
To the black cats people overlook.
To the senior pets waiting for love.
To the misunderstood animals who just need one person to believe in them.

This mission is personal.
And here’s why.

Max’s Story — The Dog Who Needed a Safe Place

Max wasn’t a shelter pet, but he was a rescue.

We got him from an Amish farm, and he came to us with a broken paw — a tiny puppy living in a horse barn, unsure of the world. At first, I didn’t bond with him. He chased my cat Buggy, caused chaos, and completely disrupted our routine.

I didn’t instantly love him.

But love has a funny way of growing quietly.

Max became my shadow, my calm, my emotional support without ever being asked. He taught me patience, healing, and how powerful a second chance can be.

Now, I can’t imagine my life without him.

Ozzie’s Story — A Lesson in Compassion

Ozzie is the story that still sits heavy on my heart — but it’s also the one that taught me the most.

She was a feral rescue, her ear tipped from her past. She wasn’t socialized, scared of everything, and didn’t know how to interact with our pets. One day, overwhelmed and terrified, she lashed out and injured Max… and me.

I wasn’t ready.
I didn’t know how to help her yet.
And heartbreakingly, we had to return her to the shelter.

I still wish I had given her the time she deserved.
But she taught me compassion.
She taught me patience.
She taught me the importance of adopting with intention — and creating a soft landing for scared animals.

I hope she found the loving home she needed.
She changed me forever.

Why I Advocate for Black Cats, Senior Pets & the Overlooked

Because they are often the last picked… or never picked at all.

Black cats are tied to old myths.
Senior pets get ignored for younger ones.
Shy or anxious animals are misunderstood.

But these pets love deeper.
They bond harder.
They appreciate safety because they’ve lived without it.

CozyPaws exists to make them visible.
