It Started with a Spunky Kitty Named Ozzie

Before Tank and Bandit came into my life, there was Ozzie—a spazo kitty full of attitude. I tried to give her a loving home, but it quickly became clear that she didn’t get along with my boy Max. One day, she actually ripped open Max’s nose. It broke my heart, but I had to do what was best for him and find Ozzie a new home.

That experience, and the stress around it, took a major toll on me.

When Life Hits Hard: My Mental Health Journey

During the search for the right pet and coping with everything going on, my mental health hit rock bottom. I ended up needing an extended stay in a mental health facility to get back on track and adjust to the right medication.

Every night, I’d call home and talk to Max on speaker. Hearing his little sounds through the phone warmed my heart. It reminded me that love was waiting for me, and that I wasn’t alone.

Enter Tank: The Cat Who Chose My Dad

While I was still in recovery, my parents found a few kittens in need of a home. The moment I was out, we adopted Tank.

Even though I was the one who brought him into the family, it was my dad Tank bonded with the most—and honestly, watching their friendship grow was healing in itself. There’s something beautiful about how animals choose their people.

Bandit Joined the Crew

Shortly after Tank, we welcomed Bandit to the family. Together, these two have been a light in our lives—constant companions, comic relief, and true emotional support animals.

Pets Heal Hearts (And Sometimes Break Them)

There’s no denying that pets improve mental health. They love us without judgment, sit with us through the hard days, and fill our homes with comfort. It hurts like hell when they go—but when you open your heart to love again, something beautiful happens.

How Abbya Pet Boutique Was Born

My love for my pets—and the healing they helped me through—inspired Abbya Pet Boutique. I wanted to create something special that celebrates the human-animal bond.

So I started designing matching pet-and-human merch. Cute bandanas for them, cozy hoodies and tees for us. Because being a pet parent is something to be proud of—and sometimes, we just need something fun and comforting to wear as a reminder of how much our pets mean to us.
